Welcome to Against the Leviathan: Photos, a photoblog of life with the world's last true whalers.  My in-progress book, The Last Whalers: Three Years in the Far Pacific with an Ancient Tribe and a Vanishing Way of Life, chronicles the life of the Lamalerans, an indigenous Indonesian tribe that hunts sperm whales with bamboo harpoons and wooden boats for its living.  All photos on this website are © Doug Bock Clark.
